SDMFC Annual Conference 2018: Six Degrees of Collaboration @ Bankers Hill Club
Oct 26 @ 11:00 am – 3:00 pm
SDMFC Annual Conference 2018: Six Degrees of Collaboration @ Bankers Hill Club | San Diego | California | United States

Join 250 military spouse leaders, command leadership and family service professionals from across San Diego! Attendees include Navy Command Ombudsman, Marine Deployment Readiness Coordinators (DRC), social service professionals, local and national government, elected official’s offices, military friendly corporate partners, etc.  Together this group touches and supports the life and service of the 68,000 active duty personnel and families that call San Diego home! While the 2017 Annual Conference had over 200 attendees, including community resource tables, representatives of command leadership and 123 unique groups/organizations in attendance, we seek to surpass our attendance by bringing even more diversity of our guests as in promoting SDMFC’s mission of inclusivity and collaboration.

Our 2018 theme is “Six Degrees of Collaboration”. Our goal is to create deeper relationships of collaboration between community resource providers, command leadership, and military spouses. During the conference, attendees will be given multiple opportunities for an enhanced networking experience. We’ll also hear from command & local leadership on teamwork and best practices for collective impact.

The 9th Annual Conference will feature guest speakers: Captain Brien W. Dickson, County Supervisor Kristin Gaspar, and keynote speaker Congresswoman Susan Davis. Additionally, we will feature preliminary findings of the San Diego Regional Veteran & Family Wellness Strategy asset mapping the current ecosystem of support for the “Military and Veteran Connected Community.” Finally, we will have collaboration activities and networking to better connect the community at large.

Please note that parking at the venue is limited so we encourage all guests to carpool.  Thank you.

Globe for All presents: A Midsummer Night’s Dream @ Serra High School
Nov 16 @ 5:00 pm – 8:30 pm

By William Shakespeare
Directed by Patricia McGregor

“Lord, what fools these mortals be!”

A Midsummer Night’s Dream is a Shakespeare classic! We’re happy to welcome this FREE performance of professional theatre at Serra High School! Join us on Friday, November 16, for a wonderful night of theatre! Dinner will be served at 5:00pm, followed by the performance at 5:45pm!

Fall under the spell of Shakespeare’s most uproarious and popular comedy. Filled with magic, humor, music, and magnificent poetry, this dream unfolds in an enchanted forest where fairies play tricks on unsuspecting lovers, and bumbling actors are transformed beyond their wildest imaginings. Add to this a secret potion that grants love at first sight, and anything can—and does—happen! Globe for All is the centerpiece of The Old Globe’s commitment to creating public value by making theatre matter to more people. It tours free professional Shakespeare to community-based venues throughout San Diego County.

Due to the subject matter, this performance is recommended for audiences aged 12+ based on parental discretion.
