Easterseals Bob Hope Veterans Support Program

Services Provided: Active Duty to Civilian Transition Support, Employment, SDMFC Members

Easterseals Bob Hope Veterans Support Program provides customized employment support services to veterans that are transitioning from military service and seeking employment in Southern California.  The WorkFirst Military & Veterans Services program is unique as it provides one-on-one employment support, customized to each individual, to achieve the veteran’s definition of “meaningful employment.”  The services are provided to veterans, with or without disabilities, and to the spouses/registered domestic partners of veterans that have a disability that prevents them from currently seeking employment.

WorkFirst Military & Veterans Services include the full spectrum of employment preparation including:

  • An individually tailored discovery of interests, skills, desires, and goals
  • Small business development and micro-grant funding
  • Assistance translating military experience and skills into language employers understand
  • Motivation and inspiration to gain confidence
  • Assistance tailoring resumes to specific employment opportunities
  • Training to enhance communication and interviewing skills
  • Tools to develop networking skills
  • Links to a network of employers
  • Advocating for each veteran to assist in getting a “foot-in-the-door” with potential employers
