Services Provided: Education and Academic Success, Financial/Basic Needs, Health, Mental Health, Parenting, SDMFC Members

The ASYMCA is devoted to helping military personnel and their families by providing free programs and services that help strengthen young families as they learn to cope with the unique challenges of military life.

The ASYMCA strives to make military life easier through the following programs for active duty families E7 and below:

Wounded, Injured and Ill at Naval Medical Center

  • Emergency financial assistance
  • Clothing
  • Cell phone
  • Personal hygiene items
  • Lodging and transportation
  • Recreational therapy
  • Holistic healing services

Family and Youth Enrichment

  • Custom quilts to dependents of deployed or soon to be deployed parents
  • Camp Hero during school breaks
  • Mom & Tots group to encourage bonding and early childhood development
  • Craft & Conversation to facilitate networking and support among military families
  • After-school enrichment programs at select schools
  • Monthly food distribution program for income qualified families

Social Work

  • Emergency financial assistance for basic food items, gas, and diapers
  • In-home counseling services for individuals, couples, or families to address a range of issues, including depression, anxiety, deployment, parenting, communication and stress
