San Diego Financial Literacy Center

Services Provided: Active Duty to Civilian Transition Support, Education and Academic Success, Financial/Basic Needs, SDMFC Members

The San Diego Financial Literacy Center enhances the financial IQ of San Diego County residents with a focus on youth, military and low-moderate income families. The financial literacy of our clients is enhanced through free education seminars and workshops offered throughout the County.

The SDFLC uses a macro approach towards transforming people’s financial behavior in a way that encourages them to make a long-term commitment to increasing income, decreasing expenses, and acquiring assets. The SDFLC provides services across these key areas: financial literacy, debt management, budgeting and credit counseling.  These core services are integrated together along with ancillary services provided by community partners in the areas of employment/workforce development and financial education/advisement.  Through our Boost for our Heroes program, we provide custom built financial education programs to our military community while providing a quarterly $3,000 financial “boost” to one deserving military personnel and/or their families.
