  • Learn how a new baby can impact your family finances, variations in pay and increased expenses, common consumer pressures targeting new parents and entitlements available via government and private sources
  • Upon completion of the workshop, participants will receive a free layette including a handmade blanket

The primary goal of the DFC Mentoring Program is that over the next year together, we will go through a community based participatory planning process to assist the SDMFC to becoming eligible to apply for long term DFC support to implement the community action plan we create.

Here are some DFC first year goals:

  • Strengthen Mentee coalition’s organizational structure.
  • Increase Mentee coalition’s leadership and community readiness to address youth substance use problems in the Mentee community.
  • Assist the Mentee coalition in working through a strategic planning process that will result in a comprehensive Action Plan.
