Welcome to the resource page for the San Diego Military Family Collaborative (SDMFC) Monthly Convening using Zoom for Friday, May 27th, 2022! This convening topic is focused on, “A Bridge to Better Understanding Local Military Families.“

FEATURED SPEAKERS INCLUDE:

  • Maggie Meza, Chapter Director, Blue Star Families San Diego: Email: mmeza@bluestarfam.org. Maggie has over twenty-five years of experience volunteering, advising, holding numerous executive board member positions, and fundraising for numerous organizations that advocate for military families. As a Military spouse, Maggie understands the needs and concerns that affect military families. She recognizes how important it is for military families to be connected not only within their installation but also outside communities. Maggie has served as an Advisor to the Exceptional Family Member Program and Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society facilitating positive changes and experiences for families stationed at Camp Pendleton. Prior to working for BSF, Maggie was the President of a nonprofit raising money for scholarships for military dependents and grants for local nonprofits that aid military families.

Discussions with panelists on Blue Star Families Military Family Lifestyle Survey, which culminates attitudes and opinions of military families in order to identify critical issues of military life. We’ll have breakout sessions to connect with one another and Q&A for audience members as well.

  • MTSE Action Team Meeting: June 9th, 2022 from 10:00am-11:00am (contact Danny/Shelby Thomas sthomas@zero8hundred.org for details)
  • SDMFC Members-Only Training: June 21st, 2022; Members are all welcome  
  • WIWMPK Action Team Meeting: June 23rd, 2022 from 12:30pm-1:30pm (confirm with Stacy Chiles- schiles@saysandiego.org)  
  • MTSE Virtual Workshop: July 22nd, 2022 from 10:00am-12:00pm (registration required)

*SDMFC will be using Zoom to convene these virtual meetings for the time being, where you can join us through the comfort of your webcam or phone. In order to fully participate in these virtual meetings, SDMFC recommends using a smartphone or computer to access Zoom. You are also able to participate by calling in, but will not be able to access the online materials and activities that will be presented. To utilize Zoom, you will need to do the following:
